SBA Scholars Programs
Junior/Senior Business Scholars

10 Senior Scholars and 10 Junior Scholars will be selected.  The scholars will be required to attend the mandatory monthly Scholars leadership seminar on the second Tuesday of each month.  Senior scholars will complete 50 hours of community service in an approved setting.  Junior Scholars will mentor Sophomore Scholars, and work with a Senior Scholar on their community service project.  Students will receive a $500 award after completing the program.

A junior scholarship ($1,250 each term)  and a senior  scholarship ($1,750 each term) will be awarded to one junior and one senior serving as Undergraduate Leader Scholars.  The senior leader, assisted by the junior leader, will oversee the Undergraduate Scholars. Both Scholarship recipients will be supervised by the Coordinator of Undergraduate Advising in the ULDC.

Admission is selective, and students must re-apply each year.  In addition to the application, students will submit a resume and a letter of recommendation from an SBA faculty member.  The selection committee will review the application materials and evaluate students based on their cumulative GPA, demonstrated campus and SBA involvement, as well as demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills.  Final candidates will be interviewed.  Consideration will be given to insure that each major is represented.

Students applying for this program must:

  • Have major standing in the SBA by the Fall 2008 term
  • Have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrate campus involvement, with preference on SBA involvement
  • Be making reasonable academic progress

If you have received a letter inviting you into the Junior/Senior Business Scholars program, here are the steps you need to take to continue the application process:

  • You should already have your OU email account, but if you don't, click here to obtain your OU email account.
    • If you supplied your birthdate on your records, your PIN will be your birthdate (MMDDYY). If you did not supply your birthdate to OU, then try the last six digits of your Grizzly ID as your default PIN.
    • If neither of these works, follow the instructions at http://www2.oakland.edu/grizzid to reset your PIN back to the default (your birthdate or last six digits of your Grizzly ID). Check the SAIL PIN Reset box.
  • Click here to sign in to the SBA Advising Portal.
    • Click on the Student Login link on the left and then log in with your newly created OU Email username (minus the @oakland.edu) and password.
    • Then, follow the link on the left for 'Scholars Application'
    • Fill out the form and click 'Submit Application'
