Larry P. Schramm is a Special Lecturer with the School of Business Administration at Oakland University.  He completed his Masters degree from Central Michigan University in Business with his thesis on company behaviors that influence and increase customer satisfaction.  His undergraduate degree was completed at The University of Michigan–Flint in Applied Mathematics and Business.

 

Mr. Schramm’s extensive private sector business experience includes over thirty five years with General Motors.  During his time with GM, he has spent time in product manufacturing, The GM Financial Staff, Global HR, and over a decade in Sales, Service, & Marketing with the Buick Motor Division.  He has had extensive customer service experience, During that time he worked with dealers, customers, suppliers and governmental agencies to promote customer satisfaction in the resolution of customer concerns and issues.  His current position is in Product Engineering where he is the Lead Engineer, Hybrid High Voltage Cables for all GM Hybrid vehicles world wide.  This includes the Chevy Volt.  He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers.

 

In addition to his private sector work, he spent over five years in the public sector doing emergency services including fire and EMS.  This experience in both the public and private sector allows for a balanced view of different perspectives.

 

In addition to his current teaching assignments he has taught from the High School course level to extensive corporate training.  The corporate instruction has been delivered both domestically and internationally.   Course content has ranged from highly technical material for engineering and automotive technicians to material for customer satisfaction including product sales and service updates and risk management for the GM Financial Staff.  His public service experience includes presenting public safety material for emergency service personnel and the general public.

 

Mr. Schramm has lived in Michigan, Alabama, and Ohio where he traveled extensively over the eastern United States for his work. His international travels include visiting over 20 countries.  The travel has been for both personal and while on business for the different General Motors Staffs.
