First Motorcycle Airbag Earns Takata and Honda
2008 Automotive News Pace Innovation Partnership Award

Takata Corporation, a leading global supplier of automotive safety systems, and Honda Motor Co., Ltd., today announced they have jointly received the prestigious 2008 Automotive News PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contribution to Excellence) Innovation Partnership Award recognizing their joint development of the first production motorcycle airbag.
The Automotive News PACE Innovation Partnership Award is unique and recognizes partnerships between suppliers and manufacturers in developing superior innovations and technical advancements. The ground-breaking motorcycle airbag design and development, currently available on the Honda Gold Wing model, is the first airbag on the market for motorcycle applications, and Honda Motor Company is the only manufacturer to offer the technology.

ALCOS Wins Two Silver Awards in the Fifth Annual Service Industry Advertising Awards Competition

Mohan Tanniru, Appointed as Dean of School of Business Administration

I am pleased to inform you of the appointment of Dr. Mohan Tanniru as the Dean, School of Business Administration (SBA) at Oakland University. This appointment follows an extensive review of Dr. Tanniru's professional record, accomplishments at OU, and overwhelming support from the faculty, staff and SBA Board of Visitors. The appointment is effective April 15, 2008, and is subject to approval of the OU Board of Trustees. Prior to his recent move to OU, Dr Tanniru was the Salter Distinguished Professor of Management and Technology and Chair, Management Information Systems (MIS), Eller College of Management, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ. Dr. Tanniru received his MS in Engineering and MBA in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin System, and received his Ph.D. in MIS from Northwestern University in 1978. He taught at University of Wisconsin-Madison and Syracuse University before joining Oakland University in 1997 as Professor in Management Information Systems. While at OU (1997-2002), Dr. Tanniru was the director of the Applied Technology in Business (ATiB) Program and co-director of the Center for Entrepreneurship in IT. During this time, he raised over $2.5 M for student scholarships, faculty support, and research conferences. Dr. Tanniru is a widely published author, a gifted teacher and an accomplished mentor to undergraduate and graduate students. His research interests are in the areas of IT strategy and supply chain management, decision and knowledge based support. Serving as interim dean since July 2007, Mohan has been busy building campus and business community relationships, preparing for upcoming accreditation, and working with SBA (and campus) faculty and staff for engagement in instructional and research initiatives. Hosted in Macomb County by the Macomb Foundation and its sister organization, the Macomb County Chamber, the Athena Award is presented to an individual who actively assists women in realizing their full leadership potential, exemplifies excellence and initiative, and contributes to the community. While just one individual will be the award receipeint, all nominees will be individually recognized at an award luncheon to be held at Warren's Ukrainian Cultural Center on Friday, April 25 at 11:30 am. Dr. Michael Grieves teaches Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) at NASA

Product Lifecycle Management is an integrated, information driven approach to all aspects of a product's life from its design inception, through its manufacture, deployment and maintenance, and culminating in its removal from service and final disposal. Dr. Grieves is honored to be teaching this PLM workshop at NASA (Engineering Division) in Huntsville, Alabama on April 10, 2008. Dr. Michael Grieves is the author of Product Lifecycle Management: Driving the Next Generation of Lean Thinking (McGraw-Hill, 2006). He is Chairman Emeritus of the Oakland University School of Business Administration Board of Visitors and is active as a part-time faculty member. He teaches the Product Lifecycle Management course, which is offered as a part of the Project Management and Team Leader Development Certificate Program through a partnership with SAE. This course will be offered next April 17 & 18th at the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) congress. Dr. Grieves graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S.C.E. He holds an MBA from Oakland University. He received his doctorate from Case Western Reserve University.

Paul to Lead Compuware Products and Services Operations, Compuware 2.0 Initiative and Other Key Functions

Paul to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer, effective April 1, 2008. Prior to this promotion, Paul was President and Chief Operating Officer of Compuware Covisint.
