40th Anniversary

Strong history, promising future

Join us in celebrating 40 years of excellence in business education

Since 1959, Oakland University’s School of Business Administration has evolved from a small liberal arts college business program to a Department of Economics and Business Administration to an AACSB-accredited business school offering undergraduate and graduate business degrees.

Over the last four decades, the SBA has seen tremendous growth in its reputation in the business and research community, thanks to the work of its expert faculty members and the success of its graduates in the work world.

During the 40th anniversary celebration, the SBA will look back at milestones and accomplishments, and look ahead to bright future that builds on its strengths by continuing its focus in providing SBA students with the practical skills needed to enhance their strong business education and expanding the SBA’s reach into the global arena.

With events and activities planned throughout the 2009-10 academic year, the SBA’s 40th anniversary celebration will offer a little something for everyone! Mark your calendar now for these anniversary festivities: Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, SBA Alumni, Faculty and Friends Golf Outing; Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, for a business conference celebrating the SBA alumni achievements through the years; and Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, for a gala celebration dinner. Check the calendar of events link on this site for more details and events.

This Web site will be your guide to all the activities as well as a place you can visit to discover more about the people and events that shaped the SBA’s growth over the last 40 years. Be sure to visit the memories page to add your favorite SBA experience and read what others have to say.
