  • Estimated cost of $17.5 million.
  • Encloses 60,000 gross square feet.

  • Building Profile:
  • School of Business Administration,
    • 57 faculty offices, 34 staff offices and 10 classrooms,
    • 3 high-tech tiered case classrooms (with up to 40 seats in each with set up for desktop and wireless connections to the Internet)
    • 5 student PC labs each equipped with 20-45 computers
    • 2 fourth floor conference rooms offer interactive video conferencing capabilities,
    • the campus network and the Internet can be accessed through a wireless WiFi connection from all classrooms and breakout rooms.
  • The e-Learning and Instructional Support (e-LIS) unit houses:
    • 1 interactive computer training lab for faculty & staff development providing access to12 PC’s,
    • 1 faculty e-course development lab with 8 hotel work stations,
    • a 100 seat technology-enhanced auditorium, and
    • offices of the E-LIS staff who support distance learning initiatives.
  • A television production suite supports:
    • Video production curriculum offerings within the College of Arts and Sciences
    • Video production support to the Marketing Department at the University
    • Video documentation and archiving of University programs and events
    • cable TV programming, and
    • the creation of video learning objects for web based instruction.
  • A technology engineering/repair center supporting classroom technologies and related infrastructure resources throughout the campus and provides:
    • design and engineering services,
    • repair services,
    • maintenance, and
    • computer upgrade support for general purpose computer labs.
  • Information technology is available to every student or faculty "desktop" whether in formal classrooms or lounge spaces.
  • Four classrooms and the 100 seat auditorium are equipped to deliver distance learning with:
    • student and instructor cameras,
    • document cameras,
    • VCR's,
    • distributed video feeds,
    • computer links,
    • telephone and fax links,
    • monitors,
    • controlled lighting and
    • acoustical treatment.
  • A staffed multi-media production center provides a full range of support services.
    • Computer presentation design and production,
    • Still image creation and archiving
    • Large format printing
    • DVD duplication
    • 35mm slide scanning
    • video streaming, and
    • creation of web-based multimedia learning objects.
  • In addition to the high-tech classroom and meeting room areas, the new building houses a significant amount of casual space so students and faculty can engage in casual discussions and socializing. These casual spaces include:
    • a student lounge and vending machine area,
    • 13 breakout or team meeting rooms,
    • seats in the hallways with network connections, and
    • a faculty/staff lounge.
  • Future expansion is already anticipated and construction will follow accordingly. By 2015, the SBA expects to grow through:
    • enrollment increases,
    • new programs, and
    • new outreach undertakings that will lead to an additional building.
