Bowling Fun Night at Troy Lanes

The Association for Information Systems hopes you can join us for a fun night of bowling on March 22nd (6PM) at Troy Lanes.
Tickets can be purchased ahead of time for $12 from Amy Rutledge (343 Elliott Hall) or for $15 at the door. Ticket price includes pizza, pop, two games, and shoe rental. If you plan on attending, please RSVP on using the link below so we can make sure to have enough lanes.

Business Intelligence for the Right Side of Brain

Business Intelligence is an analytic process, isn't it? It is surely rational, logical and reduces complex business scenarios to models and measures and numbers - to "facts" and "single versions of the truth." Donald Farmer says that is nonsense! Business Intelligence is also about discovering patterns and exploring hunches. BI supports decisions, but decisions are emotional and intuitive just as much as they are fact-based or balanced. If we are to succeed in breaking Business Intelligence out from a small circle of practitioners to be a wide-ranging practice, we need to build BI that speaks to all our needs. In this provocative session, Donald Farmer will explore how we can develop BI practices that meet basic human needs for information, exploration and decision making.1/14/2013

As businesses become increasingly dependent on information technology, there is considerable demand for aligning IT to businesses. The IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) certification does this by focusing on the principle of providing services that empower IT and business with the tools needed to enable this alignment. ITIL service lifecycle concepts are not only relevant to IT, computer science, and MIS students, but also to accounting, auditing, operations management, and management students. This presentation will highlight topics like: "Why ITIL?", "What is ITIL?" and "How can I Add Value with ITIL?".
