COURSE RUBRIC: FIS 435 - Applications of Financial Systems

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The content of this course will vary to keep pace with changing business needs and information technologies. Topics to be covered could include XML-XBRL, electronic commerce, executive decision support systems, and new technologies as they emerge. This course will be project-based.

PREREQUISITES: FIS 432 or instructor permission

Team Building: After doing individual assignment preparation at home, students are assigned to small groups (approximately two to four per group, with different groups each week) to discuss individual solutions and to reach a small group solution. Also, students work in groups of two or three on a semester-long group project.

Globalization: As the focus of the application area varies, the extent to which globalization issues are discussed also varies.
