MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Management information systems is a computer-oriented branch of management, which focuses on how computers can best be used to support managerial decisions, manage information effectively, and facilitate planning. But the emphasis is not just on computer skills. The behavior of organizations and persons is studied to see what kind of systems will actually be successful in these tasks. Students will need a strong technical background in computers, but also training in accounting, economics, finance, marketing, mathematics, quantitative methods, and organizational behavior. The market for MIS graduates is expected to grow steadily as business technical needs become more complex.
